2nd Leg Success In Canterbury

HITG’s first ever re-connect “2nd Leg” session took place in the city on Saturday afternoon, with a mixed cohort of participants, some from previous programmes alongside those joining us for the first time.

The session was the first time that HITG had run a whole afternoon of mental health and wellbeing support, mixed with a range of football drills and matches. The move was an innovative way of giving those men who we have supported before a way of touching base and re-connecting with the group, whilst welcoming new participants (some of who may not have been able to commit to our full 12 week programme) the chance to engage and receive some mental health support.

The theme of the session was ‘FOCUS, PLAN, ACTION’ whilst building mental fitness and forming new positive habits.

HITG’s Founder & Director; David Brown said “It’s great to have the opportunity to work with the group for 3 hours at once. Some of the lads weren’t able to commit to the full 12 weeks back in September, so by delivering this session today, we can cover some of the areas that they may had initially missed. This type of support model is great, as it allows us more time to deliver our mental wellbeing advice as well as a wider selection of football drills”
