HITG Legacy 6-A-Side Tournament

Eight teams representing various Head In The Game legacy projects participated in a 6-a-side tournament at Gallagher Stadium on Sunday, July 21. The event was organised and hosted by MindStones, part of the Stones in the Community mental health football initiative. MindStones entered three teams into the competition, while other teams came from Monday Night Footy (Sevenoaks), Medway United MH Network Legacy, Talking Goals Sittingbourne, and our very own Head In The Game coaches.

The tournament was played in friendly but competitive nature, with a fantastic turnout of spectators enjoying some excellent football and impressive goals.

The tournament helped strengthen the bonds between MindStones and other Head In The Game legacy projects, all of which share the common goals of using football to promote mental and physical wellbeing, raise awareness of suicide prevention, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

The tournament was won by MindStones I who beat Head In The Game 2-0 in the final.

We look forward to participating in this annual event and are excited to do it all again next summer!
