6 and 12-week programmes

Working in specific locations running sessions with a purpose

Our 6 and 12 week programmes are typically funded, and supported by a local council, organisation or community project. We partner in as facilitators of mental health focussed football training sessions with a slight difference each week, all centred around helping reduce the pressures of life on peoples mental health and tackle the stigma about being open and honest to talk together.

Current 6 and 12 week programmes

Supported by experienced football & talking therapy coaches, each session has a focus on a different mental health topic each week, whilst still providing mental health & wellbeing support in a secure and trusted environment

Drop-in Sessions

Registration required, but ongoing drop in sessions are available in some areas.

When we started, the drop in sessions were the first version of Head In The Game. Over time, we've established that the most impact on participants comes from the more structured 12 week sessions. We still run drop-in sessions where we can, or encourage previous locations to run their own sessions as a HITG Legacy project, such as PTF in Thanet.

Current drop in & legacy sessions

These sessions give men and women in the local community the chance to come together and enjoy the beautiful game on an ad-hoc basis. The weekly sessions are free and for men between the ages of 18-55 of ANY footballing ability. These sessions are part of our legacy project network, which are run by HITG partners who continue our work in their respective communities.
