HITG Featured on BBC Match Of The Day & Receive Support From Gary Lineker

Our award winning programme was featured and viewed by millions worldwide on BBC’s Match Of The Day this morning.

The segment was hosted by legendary broadcaster, Gary Lineker, who later went on to comment online that he thought the service was a “Great Initiative.”

The 12 week programme ‘Football For Thought’ is delivered as part of an ongoing partnership between HITG and Brentford FC’s community arm, the Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust. The aim of the service is to give men a platform to improve their mental health, wellbeing and mental fitness through weekly football sessions in West London.

You can watch the MOTD story below.

Lineker, who won 80 caps and scored 48 goals for England during an illustrious career, commented on social media platform Twitter to share with his 8.9 million followers his support for our work.

The appearance on MOTD capped off a busy mental health awareness week for the service, after successfully organising the Max Ramsden Memorial Cup on Saturday at The Den, home of Millwall Football Club.
